1803 DRAPED BUST HALF

Original silver surfaces with light golden overtones. Much nicer
than the grade might suggest.

1806 DRAPED BUST 50C
POINTED 6 W/STEM
O-120a RARITY 4
PCGS AU 58
11785644
This is the "broken
shield" variety, an early die state that shows only the beginning
of a die break between vertical stripes 3 and 4.
The flashing, intense
cartwheel luster seems too vibrant for a coin that "only" grades
au 58.
Indeed, the reverse
appears to be uncirculated while the obverse shows just a bare
minimum of rub on the very highest points.
The coin presents as
essentially white with just a hint of champagne toning.
It would be difficult
to imagine an uncirculated example with more eye appeal.
This piece certainly
ranks in the top dozen specimens extant and would be perfect for
inclusion in a medium grade type set.

1807 DRAPED BUST HALF
O-105 R-1 PCGS AU 58 60162286
Having searched under a
30x scope for any traces of friction or rub and finding none, we
can only conclude that this is an uncirculated coin.
With full unbroken
luster and an absence of contact marks or other blemishes we
believe this coin to be at least ms 62, perhaps higher.
Pearl grey and reddish
gold toning at the centers yield to navy blue and violet at the
peripheries for exceptional eye appeal.
Both sides show
excellent centering and complete dentilation.

1807 DRAPED BUST HALF
NGC MS 62 1800341-010
NGC was
certainly stingy with the grade on this gorgeous coin.
While they saw fit to
limit the grade to ms 62 the coin blows right past most ms 63
examples.
The obverse center has
mixed light gold and pink which deepens to blue at the periphery.
The reverse shows
light golden grey mixed with original silver.
The pictures are quite
accurate except they don't display the incredible radiant mint
luster that enhances the original toning.
The eye appeal is
outstanding and is equal to or surpasses most coins one will find
in ms 63 and finer.

Certainly worth the
premium asked.

1838 REEDED EDGE BUST
HALF PCGS MS 64 90018785
Frosty luster accented by
attractive pale gold and lilac which deepens to vivid pink and
violet at the peripheries.
The central portions
of the devices are stongly struck including the hair of Liberty
and the eagles talons and feathers.
The reverse is
flawless and only a thin hairline at Liberty's jawline apparently
keeps this coin from a gem grade with a greysheet bid of $21,500
